03 · Film
ChalkboardCode
Video coding like SportsCode and Synergy, without the install or the price tag. Load a game, tag events with hotkeys, and turn them into clips, cut-ups and stats. It runs in your browser, so your footage never leaves your computer.

Pop-out code window
Put the video in full screen and your code buttons in their own window to the side. Every press tags the live video.

Row playlists
Click a timeline row to play only that code. Ctrl-click to combine rows.

Trim in mm:ss
Drag start and end handles, or set them with I and O. Times read like 0:06.5.

Custom edits & reels
Named cut-ups you can reorder, title, annotate and export.

Matrix
Codes by player. Click any cell to play those clips.

Instant stats
Shooting numbers that build as you code.

Game library
Every game saved, plus one-click backup of games and templates.

Focus mode
Full-screen video with the buttons laid over it.

Reusable code windows
Save button sets as templates, with custom hotkeys, lead/lag times and possession toggles.
Download & unzip
Grab the zip above.
Start it
Double-click start.command (Mac) or start.bat (Windows). Needs Python 3.
Load a game
Open in Chrome or Edge, create a game, load the video and start coding.
Export
Save clips as MP4 in the browser, or use the ffmpeg script for exact cuts.
About
One brand, three tools
Chalkboard is built by Brandon Nelson, a basketball fan (go Gaels) who wanted serious tools for the game: numbers you can trust, a newsletter that breaks them down, and film study that doesn't need an expensive license.
Let's go to the board.
